The limited liability company Einar Galtung D\u00f8svig AS, now EGD Holding AS, was founded in 1907 by Einar Galtung D\u00f8svig (1885-1948). From the inception, the company traded in textiles. Einar\u2019s son Ewald (1910-2002) played an active role in the company from 1930 to 1990.<\/p>

During this period, both the company\u2019s turnover and profit grew, enabling the company to invest in areas outside its core business. Ewald\u2019s son Einar Galtung D\u00f8svig (born 1934) joined the company in the early 1960s. He expanded the company into shipping and property investments, which were later of great strategic importance.<\/p>

The current Chair, Espen Galtung D\u00f8svig (born 1972), is the fourth generation \u201cEGD\u201d. He started playing an active role in the company in 1997, and he currently owns 100% of the company\u2019s shares.
The period at the end of the 1990s and at the turn of the millennium marked a fork in the road for the textile business, and the owners took the strategic decision to close the textile business down. Instead, the focus shifted towards investment in international shipping and property.<\/p>

In 2008-2009, EGD Holding AS carried out a restructuring of its organisation. As a result, our operational and investment activities are now organised through the subsidiaries EGD Shipholding AS, EGD Property AS and EGD Capital AS. This was mainly done to increase flexibility and to ensure that each \u201cleg\u201d has sufficient capital to continue growing on the back of its own financial results. Over recent years, the Group\u2019s strategy has been to focus on fewer, larger projects.<\/p>

This report has been developed to comply with the legal requirements as stated in the Norwegian Transparency Act of June 2021. The reporting requirement applies to the EGD group of companies as the companies areresidents in Norway with consolidated total assets of more than NOK 35 million, combined with consolidated revenue of more than NOK 70 million.<\/p>

The parent company in the Group, EGD Holding AS, has established dedicated holding companies for activities related to real estate, shipping and asset management; respectively EGD Property AS, EGD Shipholding AS andEGD Capital AS. Combined these companies are referred to as \u201cEGD Group\u201d or \u201cEGD\u201d. The activities in EGD Property AS and EGD Capital AS are primarily concentrated to Norway, while the activities in EGD Shipholding AS are a global business.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
