Description
The biggest hotel in Western Norway.
With 373 rooms, a 1,000 m2 main hall and a 1,300 m2 exhibition space, the Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg is Western Norway’s biggest hotel.
A few years ago it was decided to significantly extend the hotel, which was originally opened in 1987. Before the work started on 1 August 2013, the Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg had 153 rooms.
When it reopened in May 2015, it had 220 extra rooms – 373 rooms in total – making it the biggest hotel in Bergen and Western Norway, with just a few more rooms than Scandic Ørnen.
Its total floor area was increased from 15,000 m2 to 31,000 m2.
New six-floor building
Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg has been reopened as the biggest hotel in Western Norway.
Before it was extended, the hotel consisted of two long buildings connected by a covered courtyard. In addition, there were two lower wings housing the restaurant and conference facilities, as well as a concrete building to the north.
Now there is also a new six-floor building to the west, and an extension to the north and east. The northern part has three floors, and the eastern part has six.
